New MWPD K-9 officer named by employees of MHS

Mt. Washington’s newest officer is a canine, and he is the first canine officer ever utilized by the Mt. Washington Police Department (MWPD).  A contest was held to select the name of the new canine officer by MHS (Material Handling Systems), a company based in Mt. Washington. The name “Bane”, submitted by Dennis Martin, was the winner selected from 88 name suggestions.

MWPD would like to thank MHS and the MWPD Foundation for making it possible to establish a K9 Unit within our department. This would not have been possible without a generous donation by MHS through the MWPD Foundation.
